I held my hand over my forehead to shield my eyes from the intense sunlight. Sunlight! And then I saw them, like mythical creatures walking on water. Paddleboarders.

Where was I? Hawaii?

I shook my head in disbelief. I was looking out over the water toward my very own Puget Sound.
